IP Camera Monitoring Platform
We take a different approach to our competitors who seem to feel they can offer their services at whatever
cost they like. The way they see it, if you need a police response - you don't have any choice. Unfortunately,
the highly inflated prices also apply to the many Customers who do not require a police response. This is where
IP Alarms come in.
We are more focussed on providing our services at a competitive price, whilst at the same time we seek to
maintain a high level of functionality. We keep our operational expenses to an absolute minimum by "trimming the fat"
brought about by maintaining costly security industry accreditation. Everybody wants their "cut" whenever a priority
level 1 police response is required. The truth is, police response is NEVER gauranteed, plus you don't need
a URN in every case to get a police response.
IP Alarms do not sell or install IP Cameras and you are free to use any make and model you see fit. If you
have existing analogue CCTV cameras then you will require a Video Server to make the cameras compatible with
our service.
Video monitoring is most effective when triggered by one of our supported IP or GPRS alarm panel adapters,
however, you can even use PSTN & GSM based alarm signalling equipment to alert us of events.A typical event
scenario for analogue alarm systems using the Fast Format or SIA protocol is for the panel modem or digital communicator
to grab the phone line and wait two seconds for it to settle. Then it will dial a 10 or 11 digit number and wait a
couple more seconds for the receiver to answer the call. Depending on the handshake order programmed into the
receiver, it can be another two to five seconds before it starts to send its signal. Whilst all of this is happening,
an intruder could be moving around the protected premises and valuable footage could be lost.
Using an IP Alarms supported IP/GPRS device for alarm transmission overcomes this delay by transmitting a
Pre-Alarm message the instant a panel goes into an alarm condition. IP Signalling and Digital Video enable you to tie
together multiple physical applications such as intruder,
fire, medical and access control systems so that they can work together in a more unified manner.
